The occasional links, musings, and sharables from the interwebs from a nonprofit marketing professional and self-proclaimed tech culturist in the heartland of America. Here's my website. Here I am on Twitter. And while you're at it, ask me anything. |
There’s poetry everywhere. I love reading the online classifieds at Craigslist, especially the personals. People open up about themselves, often in a desparate way, and you learn something about humanity when these people know they can reveal themselves completely anonymously.
Here is one , um, overt example of Craiglist poetry.
Lovely Rita, meter maid, may I inquire discreetly…? - - 62 (Fort Wayne 46807)
Healthy Hoosier, hardly handsome,
Hopes to take some tea for two.
Film club member, no sky-diver,
Twelve-grain bread but no tofu.
Children launched, careers concluded,
Baggage checked, free wings outspread;
Stressful, striving years behind me,
Playful, sharing times ahead!
German Rieslings, Swiss dark chocolate:
Glorious memories from my youth.Now I’m back in Allen County,
Short on money, long in tooth.
Savoring our local glories:
Philharmonic, Julia Meek,
Cindy’s Diner, DeBrand chocolates,
Half-priced movies every week.
ACPL, lunch at Saigon,
Lincoln Tower, Lakeside pond;
Meijer shopping, street bike riding,
Broadway Munchie’s Gabby Blonde.
Man and Woman need each other’s humor, warmth, integrity.
Might we walk awhile together?
